What is it about?

A status change is an application to modify your current residence status. You can only change your status if you can prove that you are legally residing in the country, for example, before the end of your tourist stay or the validity of your current residence card.

What are the conditions?

  • ou are a non-EU or EEA citizen.
  • You do not have a visa D.
  • You have a short-term residence (e.g., with a visa C or visa exemption) or a long-term residence (e.g., as an employee, family reunifier, or student).
  • You meet the necessary requirements.

How much does it cost?

To start a new residence application, you must pay a fee or be exempt from it. The amount depends on the status you are applying for.
