Staying in Ghent as a mobility student

Are you a mobility student, for instance in the Erasmus Mundus programme? Register with the municipality to obtain your residence document.

What is it about?

Mobility students receive a residence document, the annex 33 (Dutch). Register for this online with the municipality where you will be living.

What are the requirements?

  • You are participating in a mobility programme.
  • You are enrolled as a student in another EU country.
  • You are studying for at least one semester at a Belgian university or college.
  • You are not a citizen of the EU.

How much does it cost?

This procedure is free of charge.

What do I need?

  • Your national passport.
  • Your valid residence card from the EU country where you are studying.
  • The 'Mobility Notification' (Dutch) you receive from the university or college.
  • Your proof of enrolment 'standard form model' (Dutch).

What are the steps?

  1. Register online within 8 days of your arrival in Ghent.
  2. You will receive a confirmation email once we have received your documents.
  3. Your proof of registration (annex 33) will be sent to your mailbox after your documents have been processed.
