Residence in Ghent for a maximum of 6 months
Student in Ghent and an EU/EEA Member State or Swiss national? Will you stay in Belgium for a maximum of 6 months? Apply for an Annex 3ter.
With an annex 3ter you will not be entered in the National Register and you will not be domiciled in Belgium. Your principal place of residence will remain abroad.
The consequence of this is that:
- you cannot apply for a parking permit for local residents
- you cannot take a driving test
- you have to apply for a BIS number (in Dutch - if you need any assistance contact Migration) in order to work.
If you will stay in Belgium for more than 3 months, you can opt to register in Belgium (see application for EU-card).
How to apply for a Declaration of Presence (Annex 3ter)
Report your presence by means of the e-form within 10 working days of arrival.
All steps of the form have to be followed in order to complete the application. You will be asked to upload a scan of your identity card or passport.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail after we have received your form.
After your file is processed, you will receive a digital version of the annex 3ter in your mailbox.
