De brandtrap voor basisschool De Zonnepoort werd gemaakt met 70 procent minder CO2-uitstoot en is de kers op de taart van een vernieuwend Europees project.</strong></div>\n\n<div> </div>\n\n<div> </div>\n\n<div>In de Leeuwstraat in Gent ligt er al een <a href=\"https://stad.gent/nl/ondernemen/economische-speerpunten/cleantech-cluster-regio-gent/projecten-partnerschap/eerste-circulaire-voetpad-gent\">voetpad van circulair beton</a>, en op het plein voor basisschool voor buitengewoon onderwijs De Zonnepoort aan de Sint-Lievenspoortstraat kunnen passanten al een tijdje uitrusten op <a href=\"https://stad.gent/nl/groen-milieu/nieuws-evenementen/zitbanken-uit-duurzaam-beton-voor-vernieuwd-plein-aan-zonnepoort\">zitbanken van duurzaam beton</a>. Op woensdag 29 maart werd in De Zonnepoort ook een brandtrap uit circulair beton onthuld. Het cement werd grotendeels vervangen door bijproducten zoals slakken en assen van de staalindustrie. Dankzij dat proces en door het vervangen van primaire grondstoffen door gerecycleerde materialen, verminderde de CO2-uitstoot met liefst 70 procent.</div>\n \n </div>\n\n\n\n \n<div class=\"quote-wrapper\">\n <div class=\"quote\">\n <blockquote>\n <div class=\"content\">\n <p>\n Gent is Europese voortrekker op het vlak van clean technology en het hergebruik van grondstoffen. demoproject van het Interreg URBCON-project. Het Europees gefinancierde project loopt nog tot eind 2023 en wordt getrokken door de Stad Gent, de UGent en dertien partners uit Belgi\u00EB, Nederland, Duitsland en Groot-Brittanni\u00EB.</p>\n \n </div>\n\n\n\n \n<div class=\"quote-wrapper\">\n <div class=\"quote\">\n <blockquote>\n <div class=\"content\">\n <p>\n Circulair beton wint aan belang. In dit Europese project slagen we erin om zowel de CO2-voetafdruk drastisch te verlagen als het gebruik van primaire grondstoffen bij de productie terug te schroeven. Productiebedrijf Enjoy Concrete en bouwbedrijf ResourceFull deelden hun expertise voor de creatie van de trap in de fabriek. Nadien werden de stukken overgebracht naar basisschool De Zonnepoort waar ze \u00E9\u00E9n voor \u00E9\u00E9n op elkaar werden gezet.</p>\n\n<h2>Toekomstgerichte verbouwingen</h2>\n\n<p>In geval van nood kunnen de leerlingen van De Zonnepoort voortaan via de nieuwe brandtrap ge\u00EBvacueerd worden.
