Check your vehicle's Euro standard and fuel type

  • Euro standard: the Euro standard is a European environmental standard for vehicles and is indicated by means of a number. The higher the Euro standard, the lower the emissions. The Euro standard for trucks and buses is indicated by means of a Roman numeral.

  • Fuel type: the entry requirements are more stringent for diesel-powered cars than for petrol, CNG, LNG or LPG-powered cars. As a matter of fact, diesel-powered cars emit more soot and particulate matter.
Your vehicle's Euro standard is indicated in the registration document in the 'environmental category' section. Here you can find an overview of all registration documents in Europe. You are unable to find the applicable Euro standard in your registration document? Then the date of first registration will determine whether you can enter the low emission zone with your vehicle.
