De dienst Strategische Subsidies is in het leven geroepen om Vlaamse, Federale en Europese subsidies beter te benutten. Deze subsidies helpen de stad om projecten financieel haalbaar te maken en waar mogelijk innovatiever, duurzamer, ambitieuzer en grootschaliger aan te pakken.Een succesvol subsidieproject is een ideale match tussen Vlaamse, Federale of Europese doelstellingen en de doelstellingen van Stad Gent. Hiervoor zorgt het team van 15 personeelsleden.
• Zij hebben kennis van zaken van de verschillende programma's,
• koppelen die waar mogelijk en opportuun aan de doelstellingen uit het strategisch meerjarenplan,
• ondersteunen diensten bij het voorbereiden van subsidieaanvragen (bij Europese en/of het dienst overschrijdende subsidies)
• en bij rapportering, het financieel beheer en soms ook het management van gesubsidieerde projecten.
De dienst maakt vandaag deel uit van de afdeling Strategie en Coördinatie, dat aangestuurd wordt door de strategisch coördinator. De dienst neemt een centrale plaats in en opereert transversaal doorheen de stadsorganisatie.

The Strategic Funding Service has been created to make better use of Flemish, Federal and European subsidies. These subsidies help the city to make projects financially feasible and, where possible, to tackle them in a more innovative, sustainable, ambitious and on a larger scale.
A successful subsidy project is an ideal match between Flemish, Federal or European objectives and the objectives of the City of Ghent. The team of 15 employees takes care of this.
• They have knowledge of the various programs,
• link them where possible and appropriate to the objectives of the strategic multi-year plan,
• support services in preparing subsidy applications (for European and / or cross-service subsidies)
• and in reporting, financial management and sometimes also the management of subsidized projects.
Today the service is part of the Strategy and Coordination unit. The service occupies a central place and operates transversely throughout the city organization.
