BE-Alert National Testing Day
On Thursday 2 October, the city of Ghent will participate in the national BE-Alert system testing day.

BE-Alert is a tool that allows local authorities to inform their residents in the event of an emergency. The city of Ghent has been using BE-Alert for many years.
For this year's test, Ghent is selected to send a location-based text message on Thursday 2 October to everyone in the Ghent area, including those who are not registered. To do this, BE-Alert uses cell phone towers and collaborates with mobile operators. During this process, no personal data are transferred to BE-Alert or the local authorities.
